    Premio Sausage Hash Italiano



    • Premio Sausage links
    • 1 clove garlic
    • 1/2 onion
    • 3 Idaho Potatoes
    • 1 1/2 red bell peppers
    • Pinch of thyme

    How to make Premio Sausage Hash Italiano

    Add a tablespoon of oil (olive oil) to a non-stick frying pan. Finely chop the onion and the garlic. Add the onion to the pan and saute for a minute, then add the garlic, chopped bell peppers, thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Allow to simmer for around 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. When done, remove from pan.

    Add another tablespoon of oil to pan. Cut up potatoes (about 1/2 inch cubes) and add to hot oil. Quickly stir potatoes to prevent from sticking. Add salt (approximately 1/4 tsp.) Cover pan and allow potatoes to cook for another 10 minutes, or when the point of a knife easily goes through potato. When cooked, remove from pan.

    Remove outer skin from sausages and place sausage meat into the hot pan. Stir to break up the meat. Saute the sausage for about 10 minutes, then add the pepper mixture and the potatoes to the sausage. Cook them together for about 2 minutes, and enjoy!

    FOR BREAKFAST IDEAS: Add the hash to a frittata (Italian omelet).

    FOR AN ITALIAN DINNER: Once all the items are in the pan, add 1 pint heavy cream (or half & half), 2 tsp. parmesan cheese, and a pinch of oregano, and simmer for 2 minutes. Pour over penne or other pasta (16 oz. package). Top with fresh basil leaves.

    These meals should easily serve four people.
