Grilled Sausage and Artichokes

Ingredients:

1 pound Premio Premio’s Sweet Italian Sausage
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 package (14 ounces) frozen quartered artichoke hearts
1 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup provolone cheese, grated
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs

  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make Grilled Sausage and Artichokes:

1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 350 degrees (F)). Grill Premio Sausages until browned and cooked through. Remove and transfer to cutting board; slice.

2. Heat oil in a heavy skillet over grill and sauté onions and red bell pepper for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and continue cooking for 1 additional minute. Add thawed artichokes and cook until warmed through. Remove from heat and mix in mayonnaise and provolone cheese.

3. Toss with cooked sausage; season with salt and red pepper flakes. Place into a casserole dish and top with bread crumbs and grated parmesan cheese.

4. Place into preheated oven at 350 degrees (F) and bake for 20 minutes, until browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool before serving.
