Premio Festive Pita Trees



  • 1 package Premio Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage, casings removed
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 4 plain or flavored pita folds or pocket breads
  • 16 thin pretzel sticks, halved
  • ½ cup of your favorite guacamole
  • ½ cup fat-free sour cream
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic-pepper blend
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup yellow bell pepper, finely chopped (optional)
  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make Premio Festive Pita Trees:

1. In a skillet over medium heat, add oil. Remove casings from Premio sausage and add to skillet; fry until golden brown, according to package directions. Set aside.

2. Cut each pita into 8 wedges and insert half a pretzel stick in the center of the bottom of the wedge. By doing so, it will form the “tree.”

3. In a small bowl, combine guacamole, sour cream, parsley and garlic-pepper blend; mix well. Spread 1 teaspoon of the mixture onto each pita wedge.

4. Sprinkle wedge with sausage and bell peppers.

5. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 8 hours before serving.
