Spicy Sausage Ring


1 (16 ounce) package Premio Private: Italian Sausage with Pepper, Onion & Mushroom
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup snipped cilantro
1 teaspoon lime pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup cold water
1 egg, beaten

  • Always cook pork sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 160° F using a meat thermometer.
  • Always cook chicken sausage to a minimum internal temperature of 165° F using a meat thermometer.

How to make Spicy Sausage Ring:

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees (F). Cook and crumble Premio sausage.

2. Mix sausage, onion, cheese, cilantro, lime pepper and red pepper flakes, and set aside.

3. Stir baking mix and water into a soft dough. Knead 5 or 6 times on floured board. Roll into rectangle (about 14×10 inches). Spread with sausage mixture.

4. Roll up beginning with long side. With sealed edge down shape into a ring on greased cookie sheet, making sure all ends are sealed. Score ring at 1 inch intervals; make sure sausage filling is visable.

5. Brush with beaten egg and Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
